MUW welcomes next dean of College of Nursing and Health Sciences

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi University for Women names its next dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Dr. Tammie McCoy is a longtime nursing administrator. She’s currently the chair of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.

If approved by the IHL, McCoy will start her new role on July first.

Under her leadership, MUW’s BSN program has a one hundred percent first time pass rate for the state nursing exam.

She has also won numerous professional and civic awards.

McCoy would replace Dr. Sheila Adams, who served as dean and has a more than 45 year tenure.
