LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A one car accident on Highway 182 in Lowndes County left investigators with plenty of questions.

The initial call came in late Tuesday (12-25) night.

Someone saw a car go off the road.

Emergency personnel were unable locate that vehicle until Wednesday (12-26) afternoon.

Apparently it was completely underwater, and only visible once the water began to recede.

Sheriff’s deputies, fire fighters and Highway Patrolmen were all on hand as the tan, 1999 Crown Victoria  was pulled from a ditch near the Colony Apartments.

First responders were afraid somebody was trapped inside, but early indications are that whoever was driving got out and walked away.

The car is registered to Tevin Little of Reform, Alabama.

Authorities talked to him Wednesday afternoon.

He appears to be okay.

No word on any charges.
