COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -The 7th annual NAACP Health Fair in Lowndes County took off to a great start Saturday morning.
This year the event was held at the Boys and Girls Club in Columbus. Organizers say it’s a good way to reach out to the public and let them know what type of services are available in the community. Attendees were able to get free blood pressure, sugar tests and even eye exams. The non-profit event had 28 different vendors with all sorts of educational information from medical assistance to nutrition. The event was free and open to the public.
