NAACP marches in Starkville for MLK Day

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Oktibbeha County NAACP members marched in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and others who fought for our basic freedoms.

Earlier Monday a crowd gathered near downtown Starkville holding up signs and singing spiritual hymns.

After the march a brief ceremony was held at Unity Park.

NAACP members said this is an annual event to serve as a reminder of how far our nation has come.
