WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) – A naked Yazoo City man who jumped on the roof of a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car, stole it and then crashed is facing a host of charges.

William Shawn Mann, 27, is charged with three counts of simple assault on law enforcement, grand larceny, attempted grand larceny and felony malicious mischief.

Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix says a deputy was stopped by a resident to say a naked man was walking down Middleton Road, about 12:30 A.M. Sunday.

The deputy found Mann, who ran toward the patrol car and jumped on the hood. Mann then jumped on the roof of the patrol car before jumping on the deputy’s back.

The duo fought and Mann was tased twice before two state troopers arrived.

Mann was tased again and then stole the patrol car. He hit several signs before crashing at Winona Dry Cleaners.

Nix said Mann got out of the totaled car and attempted to steal a truck at a nearby car wash before he was arrested by the deputy and two state troopers.

Mann’s bond was set at $200,000 on Tuesday. He remains in jail.

Nix said a blood test revealed cocaine, marijuana, and meth in Mann’s system.

The deputy and state troopers were not injured.

Nix said Mann was out on bond in Yazoo County for a felon in possession of a weapon charge. Mann served time in jail for a drug conviction.

Nix said Mann has relatives in Winona and had arrived that night to visit.
