MISSISSIPPI (Press Release) — Three Rivers PDD has received National Emergency Grant funds from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security to provide temporary jobs for workers that lost their jobs due to the devastating tornados that swept across portions of the Mississippi Partnership Local Workforce Area.

The primary, initial activity under this grant will be the placement of individuals in temporary disaster relief jobs related to assisting the communities to recover from the natural disaster events and working on projects that provide humanitarian assistance to the disaster victims.

The eligible individuals will be able to work in public or private non-profit agencies for up to six months or 1,040 hours. The participants may earn up to $12,000 during this time of disaster related employment.
