National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – In honor of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the Columbus Police Department is doing its part to remove unwanted or expired medications from the community.

From 10 am till 2 pm Saturday, residents could bring left over prescription drugs from their medicine cabinets and turn them into the police station.

The Drug Enforcement Agency spearheads this event each year and hopes their efforts will help in the fight against prescription drug abuse.

When residents arrived to drop off, they picked up a partnership toolbox with helpful information on prescription drug abuse and the help that’s available.
