Navigation channel impassable on Tenn-Tom

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Flooding from the past week has caused trouble for a navigation channel on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.

The navigation channel at mile marker 357 is impassable to traffic. A bar has developed at the lower approach to Aberdeen Lock

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said hydrograhpic surveys are underway to assess shoaling and future plans.

All traffic is asked to exercise extreme caution in this area.
