Neshoba County Man Pleads Guilty To Child Exploitation

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – A Neshoba County man is facing prison on child exploitation charges.

19-year-old Brian Lee Davis pled guilty to one count of child exploitation in Newton County Circuit Court Tuesday. He was arrested back in February by an investigator with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit after they’d looked into his online activity.

Attorney General Jim Hood says Davis had “numerous child sexual exploitation videos and images” he’d downloaded from the internet.

Davis was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He’ll serve ten of those years; the other 30 will be suspended.

Davis is also ordered to pay a $50,000 thousand fine, along with $500 hundred for investigative costs to the AG’s office.

In addition to those fees, he will also pay $1,000 thousand to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund, and another $1,000 thousand to the Mississippi Crime Victim Compensation Fund.

Davis must register as a sex offender after he’s released from prison.
