NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — New Albany aldermen are looking to revamp access routes to the city’s healthplex.

A small bridge and access road is under the microscope for future construction work.

Aldermen say the bridge on Oxford Road is settling, and not rated to allow an ambulance to cross it. This route has become more crucial, however, with the recent opening of a new hospital emergency room.

The city is expected seek consultation from city and county engineers for suggestions on how to approach the project, as well as how to improve an unfriendly 90-degree turn on Oxford Road.
