New Case Of West Nile

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting one new case of West Nile Virus.

The current state total is now at 61, which is already higher than last year’s case total.

This latest case is out of Hinds County.

The state is still in the peak West Nile season, which is from July to September.

MSDH encourages people to remove standing bodies of water, wear loose, light-colored clothing, and apply plenty of bug repellent in place where mosquitoes are present.
