New CEO Selected For Pickens County Medical

PICKENS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s official, there’s a new man on board at the Pickens County Medical Center.

John O’Neil is the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective today, March 19.

This morning, a meet-and-greet was held welcoming the new hospital leader.

O’Neil is no stranger to this type of role. From 2009 to 2015, he spent time serving as the CEO of St. Vinvent’s hospital.

He’s also spent time at UAB where he developed and put in action, plans for rural hospitals across Alabama.

O’Neil says he’s ready to make the medical Center brighter in Pickens County.

“The reimbursement system for health care has been challenging and it changes constantly, so we will be taking a very strong look at that and seeing how we can work with the local community to provide a sustainable situation for the medical center,” says O’Neil.

Chairman of Friends of the Pickens County Hospital, Buddy Kirk says O’Neil’s expertise will help the center give the best quality care to the citizens of Pickens County and surrounding areas.
