STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens of community members showed up to Zobra’s Greek Tavern in downtown Starkville for what they’re calling the “what the heck happened to lynn spruill” group.

Organizers say it’s a public service to the community by talking about the local government, the election process, to even the responsibilities of the CEO. The coming together of this group was more or less a response to Lynn Spruill’s recent firing.

“The issue with Lynn Spruill’s firing is certainly the spark that started this fire but we want this to be about more than that, we want this to be an opportunity to bridge the gap with the public and help the public understand the local government and how the process works,” said guest speaker Richard Cory.
The group hopes to meet once every month to discuss different government related issues.
