PRESS RELEASE

TUPELO, Miss. — North Mississippi Health Services notified 109 employees this week that their positions have been eliminated because of changing conditions in the health care setting.

Employees were encouraged to seek another employment opportunity within the NMHS system. A career counselor is available to help identify transfer opportunities to match their job skills.

“The reductions were prompted by the ongoing shift from inpatient to outpatient care, declining government reimbursements and other factors,” said Dr. Mark Williams, chief medical officer.

NMHS currently has 6,190 employees system-wide, with the majority of them employed at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
