NMMC Tupelo and Women’s Hospital implements flu precautions

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – As the old saying goes “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

That thought is driving policy at North Mississippi Medical Center.

NMMC Tupelo and the Women’s Hospital have put flu precautions in place to protect their patients.

Officials asked patients’ families and friends to limit visits during this time.

They are also advised anyone who has had flu-like symptoms not to visit the hospital until they have been symptom-free for at least seven days.

NMMC also recommended that any of their employees who have not had a flu shot wear masks during flu season.

Peak flu season is usually between now and February.
