No charges for driver that hit pedestrian in Alcorn County

ALCORN COUNT, Miss. (WCBI) – Authorities do not expect to file any charges in connection with the death of a 29-year-old Tupelo man who was struck on Highway 350 early Friday morning in Alcorn County.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop F spokesman Jason Roe said Alex Tyler was walking in the middle of Highway 350, approximately two miles east of Highway 2 when he was struck by an 18 wheeler.

The driver of the truck stopped and called 911, staying on the scene.

The truck’s driver said Tyler was in the middle of the road, he tried to take evasive action, but couldn’t avoid hitting him.
