No New Law Concerning Left Lane Travel

JACKSON (WCBI) -Mississippi motorists may be staying in the right lane more since Saturday but there is no new law that says you have to.

It was widely reported that a new law calling for fines for drivers who traveled in the left lane would go into effect July 1st..
The only problem is no such law was passed this session by the Legislature. The confusion comes because a bill that would fine motorists for staying in the inside lane passed the Mississippi House but died in a Senate committee.
