Tishomingo Sheriff John Daugherty  says Prentiss County investigators initially started investigating Clifford Sappington on an enticement case.   Investigators then found out the actual crime took place in Tishomingo County and informed investigators there.   Tishomingo deputies then questioned Sappington and charged him with enticement of a child for sexual purposes.  The victim in the case was 13 years old.   Sheriff John Daugherty stated “Arrests like this sometimes cannot be made without the cooperation from other law enforcement agencies.   I would like to thank Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar, and his investigators for a swift investigation into this crime, since our Victim is only 13 years old. We must always protect our children!”

Bond for Sappington is set at $35,000
