Noxubee County hosts annual walk raising awareness on child abuse

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Case workers with Noxubee County’s Child protective services spend every day working with families and children.

This is the second year for the Child Abuse Awareness walk. Participants took four laps around the Allen Hunter track in Macon.

Part of that awareness was understanding that child abuse can be emotional, sexual, physical or neglect.

It is the role of Child Protection Services to work to strengthen families and keep children safe.

“We are ongoing advocating for our families and children here regarding child abuse and awareness. So we are always ongoing constantly advocating. We partner with a lot of services and resources here. We’re trying to make it something we do every year annually,” said event coordinator Pamela Little.
