Noxubee County Schools Takeover Vote Delayed
NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Noxubee County Schools’ fate remains in the air as the state Board of Education continues to delay a takeover vote.
Noxubee, along with Humphreys County are in consideration for state takeovers as the two districts were rated F, two years in a row.
The statewide achievement district was supposed to start this fall, but a search for a superintendent over the summer failed.
State Superintendent Carey Wright says she won’t ask the board to vote on the takeover before a superintendent is chosen.
