Noxubee County Shooting Investigation Update

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – One Noxubee County man is in stable condition after being shot Monday night.

Noxubee County Sheriff Terry Grassaree says Eric Gullery was shot in the back at the Airport Store in the Cedar Creek Community.

The call came in to dispatch around 7 Monday night, January 22.

When investigators arrived to the scene, they found Gullery lying on his back, after he was allegedly shot by Don Brown.

“It was told to us that an alteration broke out, that’s when everything started happening and that the shooter had headed back south, towards his mother’s residence, so we at that time caught up with the mother and she was instrumental in helping us get him, like any good mother would be,” says Grassaree.

Brown was arrested and taken into custody at his mother’s home and is currently being charged with aggravated assault.

The victim is at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
