Video: Noxubee Smoking Ordinance Rescinded For Further Study

NOXUBEE CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A blazing controversy surrounding a smoking ban in Noxubee County has been extinguished, for now.

Supervisors voted today to rescind the ordinance to study the measure further.

The original version passed by the board would have banned smoking at all county-owned buildings, outdoor events, and public places.

Some county leaders say they don’t believe the ordinance was fully explained, while some residents fumed over the new restrictions.

No word on when supervisors will bring up the measure again.
