A number of agencies still helping storm victims

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Recovery and clean-up are the two big topics Lowndes County’s EMA director Cindy Lawrence is talking about.

Lawrence gave the progress update Thursday at the Columbus Exchange Club.

She said volunteer agencies and the housing authority, along with other agencies are still helping tornado and flood victims.

Now, many of those people are looking for utility deposits and appliances to cook food.

Lawrence said the recent debris pick-up is lifting spirits around town.
