Okolona schools superintendent retiring

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) – The man who led Okolona schools from state control to a solid  C-rated district is retiring.

Okolona Schools Superintendent Dexter Green says he plans to leave the post he’s held for six years in June.

Green was picked as the district leader when the State Department of Education returned the district to local control.

During his tenure the district passed a bond issue which helped fund many needed expansions and upgrades to the district’s facilities.
