Oktibbeha County EMA Director to Retire

OKTIBBEHA CO., Miss. (WCBI) – Oktibbeha County EMA Director and Constable Shank Phelps is retiring one week from today.

Phelps was was told he must retire from both positions in order to receive his retirement check.

He was a sheriff’s deputy for more than two decades in Oktibbeha County before leading the EMA for nearly two years.

There have been equipment upgrades and the agency has moved to a new location.

Phelps says he will run for the constable position again in November, when an election is already on the ballot.
