Oktibeha County Shelter Update

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss.(WCBI) – Construction continues on a community shelter in Oktibbeha County.

The safe room was approved in 2014.

The project was delayed after concerns surfaced about the population of the area, access, and other FEMA requirements.

The building will accommodate around 1,600 people.

Project leaders expect the shelter to be complete May of 2019.
