One Dead, 1 Hurt In Saturday Night Collision

PONTOTOC COUNTY (MHP RELEASE) -State Troopers continue to investigate a 3-vehicle crash in Pontotoc County that claimed the life of an Ecru man. Troopers responded to the Saturday evening crash at approximately 8:00pm, near the intersection of MS 15 and Friendship Road.

Upon arriving it appeared Teressa Phillips, 34, of Thaxton, was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla and attempted to turn south onto MS 15 from a private business. She apparently pulled into the path of a north bound, 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle, driven by Bryon Wilburn, 29, of Ecru.

Phillips was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. She had two passengers in her vehicle that were uninjured.

Wilburn received fatal injuries in the crash and died on the crash scene.

A third vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Melvin Roye, 76, of Pontotoc, was south bound on MS 15 collided into the rear of Phillips vehicle after the first collision. Roye and none of his three passengers were injured.
