One killed in Lee County car accident

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – One person is dead following a car accident in Lee County earlier Wednesday.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said a vehicle was eastbound on Highway 178 Near Mooreville when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The driver died at the scene of the accident.

At this time the driver’s name is not being released as investigators are notifying family members.

MHP is investigating the fatal wreck.
