Organizations are helping local government workers during shutdown

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Two agencies in Lowndes County are coming together to help local Government workers through the shutdown.

The Lowndes County United Way and Building Bridges of Hope are collecting gas cards, retail and restaurant gift cards to donate to workers who are furloughed.

They are also accepting cash donations. Community Outreach Coordinator Glenda Buckhalter says all donations will be used to assist the workers.
