Oxford Burglary Lands Florida Man in Jail After Traffic Stop in Texas

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A Florida man is arrested in Texas and transported to Oxford for a March burglary.

33-year-old Geoffrey Green of Lauderhill, Florida is charged with auto burglary and credit card fraud.

On March 21, Oxford Police officers responded to the Oxford Activity Center for an auto burglary. The suspects had already left before police arrived.

The next day, investigators discovered the auto burglary victim’s credit cards had been used at several locations in Oxford and surrounding areas, and they were able to get video and other information from the transactions and were able to identify Green as one of the culprits.

Warrants were issued for Green, and on July 7, Oxford Police Department was notified that Green had been stopped in Strafford, Texas for a minor traffic offense and was taken into custody.

He was held in Texas until he could be transported back to Oxford. His bond was set Wednesday at $20,000 thousand.
