Oxford Man Arrested On Charges Of Child Sex Crimes

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Oxford Police arrest a man this week on multiple charges.

Donald Barker, 26, of Oxford, was arrested Tuesday for possession of child pornography, promoting prostitution and enticement of a child to meet for sexual purpose.

On Tuesday morning, Oxford Police Department School Resource Officers were contacted by a concerned parent who found suspicious text messages on their child’s phone.

The parent that contacted officers believed that Barker had intentions of going to Oxford High School to meet the minor for sex.

When Barker pulled up to the school, investigators and metro agents took him into custody.

A search warrant was issued for Barker’s phone and residence.

Investigators found child pornography, as well as messages where Barker promoted a minor for prostitution on his computer.

Barker was formally charged, and his bond was set at $250,000 thousand.
