ABERDEEN/OXFORD — Monday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested Murray Cook, 55, of Aberdeen, on charges of uttering forgery.

Cook is accused of passing a counterfeit check at a business in Aberdeen.

Cook is being held at Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. Bond has not been set as of Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Oxford Police have announced several recent arrests.

Police charged Elizabeth Rikard, 36, of Oxford, on Wednesday with domestic violence/aggravated assault after responding to a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and finding that the victim was cut on the arms and neck. Rikard’s bond was set at $2,500.

OPD officers charged Michael Key, 34, of Oxford, Thursday with felony shoplifting after Walmart loss prevention personnel signed an affidavit. Key’s bond was set at $2,500.

OPD investigators charged Jeoffrey Gordon, 20, of Oxford, on Saturday and Jemaul Miller, 18, of Oxford, on Sunday, each with one count of cyberstalking/threatening and harassing e-mail. Bond was set for both suspects at $15,000, and investigation continues.
