Oxford Police searching for stolen car after short chase

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)-  Oxford Police say a Monroe County man went into a convenience store, and when he came out his car was gone.

It happened just before 7 Monday morning at the Circle K at Thacker Road.

Investigators say the black 2017 Toyota Corolla was westbound on Highway 6. Officers attempted to pull the car over near the Lafayette County line, but the driver kept driving.

Police followed the car into Panola County, but called off the pursuit.
