PACCAR Supplier May Be Headed for Lowndes

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A supplier for PACCAR Engines could snap up Lowndes County’s proposed industry spec building before it’s even built.

The company would employ up to 80 people in a 175,000-square-foot building near PACCAR in the county’s Global Aerospace Park. The county is awaiting a final decision before applying for $1.4 million in state and local funding to pave the road into the park.

The company is one of five looking at Lowndes County. Two others are looking at Oktibbeha and two at Clay.

The total potential investment of the prospects is about $600 million with one of the companies considering $300 million. The prospects range from steel and composites to guns, food and distribution.
