COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) – Columbus Police are releasing more details on the incident at Palmer Home for Children on June 29, 2016.
Eric Todd Leslie, 26-years-old, 912 11th Avenue South in Columbus has been arrested and charged initially with burglary and larceny of an occupied building. Other charges could be added later.
The incident report details that Leslie allegedly entered the home of a Palmer Home for Children residence on the grounds of the Palmer Home facility. The victim reports he was assaulted before other staff members restrained Leslie.
The victim reports he has no prior knowledge of Leslie and had never seen or met him before. Several witnesses at the scene report Leslie appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug or drugs.
The victim was treated and released last night from Baptist Hospital Golden Triangle. Leslie is in the Lowndes County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
