Parkgate Pregnancy Clinic Holds Annual Banquet

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- Multiple Grammy award winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman entertained a capacity crowd at The Orchard Church for Parkgate Pregnancy Clinic’s annual fundraising banquet.

The Tupelo based ministry helps women facing an unplanned pregnancy by offering counseling, ultrasounds and other medical services.

The goal is to encourage women to not have an abortion.

Chapman, who is one of the most successful Contemporary Christian artists, shared his story, along with his wife, Mary Beth.

They encouraged people to support Parkgate’s mission and to help those struggling with unexpected obstacles and issues.

“We’re believers, strong believers and have experienced it, not only with our own daughters, but with other friends and families, that there’s not a single life created, begun that’s not by God’s design. There’s a plan, a story being told, and what Parkgate does is help those be realized, helps those stories unfold and be told,” said Chapman.

Chapman and his wife have six children, three are adopted from China.

Nearly ten years ago, Maria, who was five at the time, was killed in a tragic accident at the family’s home.

Since then, the Chapmans have spoken openly about their loss and the role that faith played in their healing.
