Pedestrian Struck by Car

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man was injured today when hit by a car while checking his mail.

Police say Bobby Williams was hit outside his home at 611 Hemlock Street by a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by his neighbor, Brian Lowe.

Lowe told police he saw Williams checking his mail and that Williams stumbled and fell into the path of the Tahoe.

Williams told police he remembered checking his mail but did not stumble.

He was treated at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital.

The accident happened just before noon Thursday.
