Plane down in Union County

UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards confirms a private plane went down in Union County.

According to Sheriff Edwards, the plane was located near the junction of County Rd. 120 and County Rd. 121 in the extreme southeast part of the county.

Debris has been found, but due to severe weather, Sheriff Edwards says they had to leave the scene but plan to go back Sunday Morning.

Union County EMA Director Curt Clayton says Air Traffic Control Center in Memphis called in the missing plane.

Pontotoc County Emergency Responders were also a part of the search.
