Pre- Dawn Accident Proves Fatal

LEE COUNTY (WCBI) – A deadly start to the Christmas travel season as two people die in a Christmas Eve crash.

State troopers say the accident happened around 1:30 AM Saturday.  The driver and passenger were traveling on Highway 371 between Mooreville and the Evergreen community when the vehicle left the roadway ,crashed and caught fire .  Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says her office has preliminary information on the identity of the 2 victims but no names are being released until those names can be confirmed through forensic tests to be performed at Mississippi Forensic Testing in Pearl.
