Severe Threat Ends By Mid Evening
TODAY: Storms move in from the southwest this afternoon, and some storms will likely be severe. Strong straight line winds looks most likely, but hail and a few tornadoes will also be possible, mainly from around 2 pm to around 8 pm. Non thunderstorm winds in the afternoon will be southerly, gusting up to 30 mph. The cold front moves through overnight, dropping temperatures back into the low 50s after midnight. Between 1-3″ of rain may also fall and that could lead to additional flash flooding.
FRIDAY: An upper level low pushes through the area, keeping things cloudy and quite cool. Northwesterly winds could gust to 20-30 mph through the day. A few scattered showers are likely through the day. High temperatures will stay in the 50s. Skies begin to clear overnight, with lows dropping into the low 40s.
EASTER WEEKEND: Sunny and pleasant weather in store this weekend. Highs in the upper 60s Saturday under mostly sunny skies. We’ll warm up to the upper 70s Easter Sunday afternoon with lots of sunshine.
NEXT WEEK: The first half of next week looks relatively calm. Highs in the low 80s Monday through Wednesday. An isolated shower or two possible Wednesday but any significant rain chances look to hold off until the second half of the week.
