Prisoner’s Appeal Denied
By Robert Davidson
JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — The State Supreme Court turns back a prisoner’s appeal in a 2008 Noxubee County murder.
Lamarcus Jones is serving a life term for the shooting death of Marveo Lane outside the Q5 club in Macon.
Jones argued his conviction should be tossed because there was not enough evidence to convict him.
He also claimed a co defendant was given a plea deal to a lesser charge in exchange for his testimony against him.
The justices denied those claims and ordered Jones to serve his life sentence and to be responsible for paying Lane’s funeral expenses.
