Prisons remain under lockdown throughout Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – A lockdown continues at all state, private, and regional prisons in Mississippi.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections said the movement of inmates is limited to emergencies only.

Visitation has been canceled this weekend.

MDOC said it is investigating the violence and using resources to address the fights.

The agency has provided limited information because of what it said is an active investigation.

MDOC said it will release information as it becomes available and does not jeopardize safety at the prisons.
