A Pursuit Leads To A Crash In Oktibbeha County

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A pursuit of a stolen vehicle leads to a two-car crash in Oktibbeha County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the wreck a little after ten Sunday morning.

MSgt. Criss Turnipseed says the crash resulted from a pursuit of a stolen vehicle by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The chase led into Oktibbeha County on Hickory Grove Road at Highway 182.

Turnipseed says a stolen 2004 Nissan car traveling south on Hickory Grove Road, collided with a 2008 Chevrolet truck traveling west at the intersection of Highway 182.

MHP says the driver of the Nissan, 28-year old Jonathan Cosby, of Haleyville, Alabama, was airlifted from the scene and taken to the University Medical Center in Jackson with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck was 77-year old Otis Robinson of Starkville.

He was taken to OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville with moderate injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
