Regional Rehabilitation Center hosts Kentucky Derby party

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- You didn’t have to be in Louisville Kentucky to enjoy the 145th Kentucky Derby.

Tupelo held it’s 21st Derby Party to benefit the Regional Rehabilitation Center.

Attendees got to dress up just like at the Derby Parties at Churchill Downs. The ladies decked out with the fancy hats. Robby Parman is the director of the Regional Rehabilitation Center.

“We’re a non-profit and we’ve been around for fifty years to provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy early prevention services and dyslexia services. We do it all free of charge. We don’t charge insurance or Medicaid. And this is one the parties that allows us to do that,” said Parman

Parman says they normally raise around 12-thousand dollars at this event. He says it is a lot of fun and participants get to experience what it is like at the Derby party.
