Reports of fake IRS agent in Webster County are unfounded

WEBSTER COUNTY (WCBI) – The Webster County Sheriff’s department said reports of people impersonating an officer and an IRS agent are not true.

The department was called Wednesday by a resident claiming two people came to a residence claiming to be there to collect an IRS debt.

Further investigation by the department Wednesday has determined the incident is a case of a false report.
