Restaurants are gearing up for a busy New Year.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A survey by the National Restaurant Association reports that 100-million people will visit a bar or restaurant on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s day.

And, one local restaurant is gearing up for the crowds.

Harvey’s in Columbus says they’ll be ready.

They’ll even have a special item on the menu on New Year’s Eve.

It’s a New York Strip Oscar. That’s a steak topped with crab meat and hollandaise sauce.

Harvey’s assistant manager Max Schoolar says that news years has always been a great night for business

“It just seems like that’s the one day of the year that everybody gets out of the house to do things we are very busy during the holiday time, so we are anticipating a big crowd this holiday too,” said Schoolar.

Schoolar adds the restaurant has taken some reservations, but are not taking any more.
