VIDEO: Retiring Teachers Honored

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) —  The Noxubee County School District celebrates the service of employees retiring from the district.

During a special ceremony Monday, retiring teachers and support staff employees were honored for their commitment to students in the county.

“A teacher is very important in the life of a child…”, said retiree Linda Stevens, “…how the child is treated will have a great impact on his learning abilities.

“…I would like to encourage other to reach out for the field of teaching because it’s so rewarding to help young people learn and to know that you’ll be a part of their lives forever, because you were a teacher.”

Seven teachers were honored in Monday’s ceremony.
