Rienzi Pair Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery After Conspiracy Goes Awry

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Rienzi man and woman are accused of creating a plot to rob someone but things didn’t go as planned.

Lisa Flores and Isaac Crump are both charged with one count of attempted armed robbery.

New Albany investigators tell WCBI that Flores and Crump drove to New Albany to meet the alleged victim, to get money Flores believe she was owed.

Flores dropped Crump off at the New Albany sportsplex and went to pick up the victim.

Flores and the other man returned to the sportsplex, where police say she attempted to stab the victim inside the vehicle.

Police detectives believe Crump missed a sign to approach the vehicle and rob the victim.

The victim ran away and called police.

Flores and Crump were pulled over by officers and later arrested.

Investigators say Flores and Crump were in a relationship together and Flores knows the alleged victim.
