Risque Tops Reading On Student Computers
JACKSON (WCBI) – An alarming percentage of school issued or maintained computers are being used to visit porn and other questionable websites.
A check by the state auditors office shows 86% of the middle school computers and 82% of high school units contain inappropriate materials. State Auditor Stacey Pickering says each of the districts checked all have presented documents saying they monitor computer usage by the students.
Pickering says new guidelines are being recommended including improved methods to monitor off campus computer usage and hefty fines for districts who fail to monitor or prevent questionable use of the district owned devices.
