Road Rage Argument Injures Three

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An argument over a road rage incident in Aberdeen leads to a shooting that puts 3 people in the hospital.

Now, Two Juveniles are in custody facing felony charges.

About six Saturday evening, Monroe County Deputies were called to a home in the 10000 block of Robin Drive at the Quinn Mattox Subdivision.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says Ira Hammond and two juveniles went to the home looking for Dylan Pruitt after a road rage incident a few days prior.

What started as an argument, Cantrell says quickly turned into gunfire.

“They went down there to give him a whipping. They got in a fight and the fight escalated with them drawing their guns and they started shooting at these people at the residence so the owner returned fire,” says Cantrell.

According to the sheriff, the owner of the home isn’t facing charges at this time.

A third juvenile will be charged with aggravated assault once they’re out of the hospital.

Hammond, one of the juveniles and a 23-year-old woman who was driving by were all shot.

The sheriff says Hammond was shot in the throat during the shooting and is unable to speak. He’s hasn’t been charged at this time.
